"Jury Award for Best Regional Videoclip" at the Festival de Cine Latinoamericano Retama, as the "4th Best Peruvian Music Video Clip of 2023" by the renowned Rock Achorao annual ranking, and given an "Honorable Mention" by the Berlin Music Video Awards 2024.
“Jirka Kumu” (Jerga Kumu) is a ritual song and dance, more than 600 years old, which tells the story of the migration of the #mitmaq from #pachacamac to #Yauyos, in the Peruvian Andes, during the reign of Pachakuti. The song offers great light to the situations that these men and women endured, and their coping mechanisms while adapting to new environments and situations, their reverence to the cosmos, and the earth, while weaving their cultural differences.
The project was launched in Harvard University (The Quechua Alliance) and later in the Jerga Cumu plaza in Yauyos, Jauja- Peru. It was also the winner of the Retama Latin American Film Festival, as the best regional videoclip.
